Bozena Zag: Redefining the Power of Forty

At forty, Bozena Zag didn’t just start a new chapter — she rewrote the entire narrative. A mother, mentor, and model, she has become a voice for women who choose growth over fear and authenticity over expectation. Through her personal transformation and movement for women 40+, Bozena proves that it’s never too late to begin — and that true confidence begins in silence, self-awareness, and the courage to say yes to yourself.

Bozena, your life journey beautifully illustrates that life truly begins at forty. You started by investing in yourself — spiritually, mentally, and creatively — and reached an impressive level of self-realisation. Your transformation began with silence and self-reflection. What was the most unexpected thing you heard from your own inner voice?

That my value is not defined by external validation or comparison to others. In the silence, I discovered my true strengths, dreams, and the unique path that is mine alone. Investing in yourself is not just about gaining knowledge or skills — it’s about nurturing your spirit, embracing your vulnerabilities, and trusting that every step towards self-improvement is a testament to your resilience and authenticity. I’ve learned to practise patience and self-compassion, reminding myself that growth often happens in quiet moments of reflection — and that the journey of self-investment never truly ends.

You’ve created a movement for women 40+ who want to redefine their paths. In your opinion, what is the biggest mental barrier that prevents a woman from believing that “it’s not too late”?

The biggest mental barrier for both women and men is believing in themselves — full stop. It’s essential to recognise that it’s never too late to pursue the passions that ignite you. We are the creators of our own lives, and the foundation of any goal lies in mindset. By consciously filling our minds with empowering beliefs, we can rewire our thinking and unlock our potential. This shift requires unwavering self-belief and consistent practice — transforming desire into reality. Ultimately, this inner faith fuels the soul and drives us towards our aspirations.

Your course is based on real experience, not just theory. What personal insight or revelation do you consider the most valuable for women who are currently searching for a new sense of purpose?

Embrace creativity and allow yourself to explore your desires. When fear and self-doubt arise, remember that everyone experiences them — but letting them take over only leads to overthinking and procrastination, dulling your potential. Overcoming that mental barrier is essential. Ask yourself: What’s the worst that can happen? Often, nothing significant — and from that stillness, everything begins to unfold.

By pushing past fear and the sense of lack, you open yourself to new opportunities. My own journey took me through both sides of that experience, ultimately leading me to discover a purpose greater than I had imagined. Embrace the process — you might find your purpose is far beyond what you first envisioned.

You combine the roles of mother, mentor, model, and professional. At 48, you stepped onto the runway, proving that beauty has no age limit. What did you feel in that first moment on stage — fear, power, or complete freedom?

I felt an exhilarating mix of fear and freedom, realising I had achieved something I had always envisioned. I broke the stigma surrounding age in modelling, proving that passion knows no limits. Despite the challenges of being a mother in a small community without a modelling industry, I rewired my mindset and embraced my insecurities. This experience reinforced my belief that age doesn’t matter when you’re pursuing your dreams — with patience and determination, you can build your own version of success.

Failures are what truly shape success — they teach resilience, growth, and perspective. It’s through setbacks that we strengthen our belief in the passion we pursue. Once you understand that, you become open to the countless opportunities life brings your way.

You’ve said that “a better life begins when we say yes to ourselves.” What does your personal “yes” look like today — in your actions, choices, and the people around you?

My “yes” is rooted in certainty — the certainty that everything I want, I already have. I trust that I have everything I need in this present moment. When you have that faith in the unknown, everything begins to align. The work I do, the passions I follow — they already exist within me. Opportunities flow naturally when you believe that what you seek is already yours.
