Dr. Eirini Zagkou represents a new generation of surgeons — where intellect meets elegance, and clinical excellence meets feminine power. A doctor to watch. A name to remember.

1. Let’s begin with your core philosophy as a doctor. What drives you?

I believe beauty is not about perfection — it’s about balance, confidence, and staying true to oneself.
My role isn’t to change a face; it’s to reveal its essence — respectfully and scientifically.

2. Tell us about your medical path. What led you here?

I studied Medicine and currently train as a surgeon with a strong focus on facial reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. My journey includes clinical experience in the UK, where I worked alongside world-renowned head and neck surgeons. That was a turning point.

3. You’ve been described as a doctor with an “artist’s eye.” Where does that come from?

Art is in my DNA. Whether it’s photography, sculpture, or human anatomy — I see design, symmetry, and proportion everywhere. Medicine gives me the tools; art gives me the lens.

4. What procedures excite you the most right now?

I love treatments that combine form and function.

Rhinoplasty is a favourite — where you can improve breathing and confidence in one go. But I’m also passionate about subtle, natural injectables that refresh, not distort.

5. You’re very active on social media. How do you balance your medical integrity with online visibility?

Carefully! I use Instagram (@dr_eirini_zagkou) to educate, not to advertise.

I’ve faced scrutiny — as many young doctors do — but I stay transparent, professional, and always true to my mission: accessible knowledge and real results.

6. You recently appeared on national TV in Greece. What was that like?

Exciting and surprisingly emotional! It gave me the chance to show the human side of medicine — behind the scrubs and the filters.
And I loved connecting with a broader audience, especially young women in science.

7. You’re also a mother. How do you manage work–life balance in a demanding field like yours?

It’s a dance! But I believe you don’t “find” time — you create it.

For family, for rest, for a glass of wine with girlfriends.

I prioritise quality over quantity and say no to things that don’t align with my values.

8. What are your next professional goals?

In the coming months, I’m opening my private practice in Glyfada, a beautiful part of Athens that blends elegance with a coastal lifestyle. It will be a boutique medical space where I can fully combine science, precision, and personal care.
At the same time, I’m dedicating energy to expanding my own skincare line. We’re scaling up production so it can be distributed internationally.
My goal is to offer clinical-grade, sophisticated formulations to women around the world — rooted in science, but designed for everyday glow.

I’m also building an international network — Dubai is definitely on the radar!

9. If you could give one piece of advice to young women in medicine, what would it be?

Stay bold. Stay humble. And never apologise for wanting it all — career, creativity, family, freedom.

Medicine is no longer a man’s world. It’s a woman’s art, too.

10. Last question: Tell us something about you we don’t see on Instagram.

What grounds me isn’t work. It’s family. That’s where my strength comes from — where I go to recharge, to laugh, to be simply myself.
In the clinic, I aim for precision. At home, I embrace imperfection. The balance between the two is everything.
And maybe that’s why I pay so much attention to light — its warmth, its angles, its truth. In both photography and surgery, lighting changes everything.
