ARIELA BRUNO GARCIA: Fashion as Transformation and Empowerment

For Ariela Bruno Garcia, fashion is more than a surface statement — it is a language of empowerment, confidence, and identity. From her reflections on self-care to her experiences in Dubai, she shares how style can become both an intimate ritual and a powerful cultural dialogue.

How do you feel fashion can be a tool for women’s empowerment in your life and in the lives of other women?

For me, fashion is a tool of expression and power. Through what we wear, we tell the world who we are, what we feel, and what we want to project. In my life, it has allowed me to reaffirm my identity at every stage and to connect with my feminine energy more recently. For other women, I believe it opens the door to confidence, visibility, and the freedom to show themselves without fear. Dressing is an everyday act, but it is also an act of empowerment.

For you, where is the line between vanity and self-care? Do you think everything is valid when it comes to a woman’s well-being and confidence?

I believe the difference lies in intention. Vanity stays on the surface, while self-care comes from self-love. It’s not about pleasing others but about feeling good within ourselves. For me, anything that strengthens a woman’s confidence, emotional or physical health is both valid and necessary. Taking care of ourselves is a form of respect toward ourselves.

What is your indispensable personal care ritual that you would recommend to other women?

My indispensable ritual is my skincare routine, accompanied by moments of silence for myself. It’s more than creams and serums: it’s giving myself the space to connect with me, to breathe, and to give thanks. I would recommend that every woman have at least one ritual of her own — something that reminds her she deserves time and attention, because that reflects in how we walk through life.

What surprised or impressed you the most about Dubai, both in terms of fashion and culture?

What surprised me the most was the contrast between modernity and tradition. In Dubai I found a fashion that dares to be avant-garde, yet always with deep respect for culture. I was fascinated by how luxury and spirituality coexist, and how women can stand out with elegance without losing their essence. That duality left a deep mark on me.

If you had to describe in one word what fashion means to you today, what would it be and why?

Transformation. Because fashion has the power to change how you perceive yourself, how you feel, and how you relate to the world. It is a tool that drives identity, confidence, and presence.
